Qualifications

• High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification requirements: complete certification testing within 30 days of hire and obtain certification within 120 days of hire; accepted Medical Assistant Certifications (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).
• Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs; review medication list in the EHR; screen and document patient history.
• Perform back office testing per AHN protocols.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Possibly serve as a scribe after training.
• Provide follow up with patients via preferred method per provider instructions.
• Prepare exam rooms; ensure stock of medical supplies and sterilize instruments.
• Document accurately in the EHR and perform clerical duties as assigned.
