Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care and routine procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The role involves welcoming patients, preparing exam rooms, and assisting clinicians with tests and treatments.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one of several pathways (MA program, 1+ year of experience, or related military/EMT training). Our team emphasizes compassionate care and collaborative learning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:
• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
• Military Medic training OR
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program

Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience

Military Medic training

EMT-P (Paramedic) training

Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
