POSITION SUMMARY

Functioning as a team member within a patient-centric care delivery model to provide high-quality service within the practice setting. Proficiently navigate multiple information technology platforms and applications. Render direct patient care services under supervision, demonstrating ProMedica’s values to the patient.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Report for scheduled shifts on time and professionally, maintaining appropriate behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients, colleagues, and outside agencies.
  2. Collaborate with providers and leadership to improve the patient experience through daily care, clerical support, and ongoing projects. Assume additional duties as needed in a self-directed manner.
  3. Prepare patients for visits by taking vital signs, documenting and entering orders within the EPIC system, coordinating support and ancillary services, preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, and supporting providers and patients. Perform specialized tests (e.g., pulmonary function tests, phlebotomy) as needed.
  4. Ensure a safe patient experience by adhering to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer standards. Report equipment malfunctions or safety issues.
  5. Support clerical functions such as calls, documentation, and scanning.
  6. Demonstrate clinical knowledge and focus on customer service by answering and triaging patient calls, recording messages accurately, and obtaining instructions from providers or nurses when appropriate.
  7. Support internal and external customers to maintain a superior care experience through teamwork. Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and staff. Participate actively in staff meetings.
  8. Collaborate with leadership and staff to recommend improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency of patient care.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned that support ProMedica’s core values.
Job Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills: Ability to promote customer satisfaction, work independently, prioritize, problem-solve, and collaborate effectively.

Certification: BLS (CPR) certification from AHA required at hire or within 90 days.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of a recognized MA program at an accredited college or university.
  • 1+ years experience in direct patient care preferred.
  • Applicable medical certification (e.g., MA, EMT, STNA) preferred.
