POSITION SUMMARY

Functioning as a team member within a patient-centric care delivery model to provide high-quality service within the practice setting. Able to proficiently navigate multiple information technology platforms and applications. Renders direct patient care services under supervision, demonstrating ProMedica’s values to the patient.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Reports for scheduled shifts on time, professionally, with proper behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients’ colleagues and outside agencies.
  2. Works closely with providers and leadership to improve the patient experience through daily patient care, clerical support, ongoing projects, and additional duties as needed, in a self-directed manner.
  3. Prepares patients for visits by taking vital signs, documenting, order entry within the EPIC system, coordinating support and ancillary services, preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, scheduling, and supporting providers and patients. Performs specialized tests as needed.
  4. Ensures a safe patient experience by adhering to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, manufacturer standards, and reporting equipment malfunctions or safety issues.
  5. Supports clerical functions such as calls, documentation, and scanning.
  6. Demonstrates clinical knowledge and customer service skills to answer and triage patient calls, record messages accurately, and obtain necessary instructions from providers or nurses.
  7. Supports internal and external customers to maintain a superior customer experience through teamwork and professional communication. Participates actively in staff meetings.
  8. Collaborates with leadership and staff to recommend improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency of care.
  9. Performs other duties supporting ProMedica’s core values.
Job Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills: Ability to promote customer satisfaction, work independently, prioritize, problem-solve, and collaborate effectively.

Certification: BLS (CPR) from AHA, current at time of employment or to be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Completion of a recognized MA program at an accredited college or university.

Experience: 1+ years in direct patient care preferred.

Certification: Relevant medical certification (MA, EMT, STNA, etc.) preferred.
