Job summary

McLaren Health Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to provide patient care under supervision, including preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, and assisting in procedures. The role may require travel for float positions and adherence to clinic policies.

Starting wages for non-certified Medical Assistants are $20.86/hour and $21.90/hour for certified MAs; a $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible new hires. Schedule is full-time, typically 8:00am–5:00pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a Medical Assistant or a Patient Care Tech.
• Completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, armed services medic, or patient care technician.
• BLS certification within 6 months for Rural Health Designation clinics when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist in a variety of medical procedures and tests to aid examinations and treatments.
• Administer injections and venipuncture; record vital signs and interventions in charts or EMR.
• Prepare examining rooms and stock supplies; organize forms for physicals.
• Assist providers with care delivery and patient communication, including EKGs, PFTs, immunizations, and lab slips.
