Job summary

Gastroenterology Health Partners, supported by One GI, is hiring a Full-Time Medical Assistant for our Louisville, KY location with occasional travel to the satellite site in Shepherdsville, KY about once a month. The role supports physicians, takes patient vital signs, collects samples, and coordinates scheduling and referrals.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Medical Assistant training or program.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• Must be able to travel to satellite locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Measure vital signs and document in patient chart.
• Collect specimens for lab analysis as applicable.
• Obtain and record patient health history.
• Assist physician during office visits and in emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions and referrals as directed by physician.
• Assist with scheduling of visits, tests, and procedures.
• Answer patient questions and communicate test results.

Must be able to assist physician in an emergency.Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician.Manage referrals as directed by physician.Answer patient questions. Notify patients of test resultsAssist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions and appointments as necessary.The Must Haves:High school diploma or equivalent required.Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required.Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred.BLS certified required.Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.Must be able to travel to satellite locations
