Job summary

Gastroenterology Health Partners in Louisville, KY is hiring a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering exceptional digestive care. You will measure vitals, collect specimens, record health history, and assist during patient visits. Required: high school diploma or equivalent, prior Medical Assistant experience, and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Measure vital signs (weight, BP, pulse, temp) and document in chart.
• Collect specimens for lab analysis as applicable.
• Obtain and record patient health history.
• Assist physician during office visits, including emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions and referrals as directed by physician.
• Answer patient questions and communicate test results.
• Assist with scheduling procedures, lab tests, imaging, and appointments.

Snapshot of Daily Duties:

• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and documents all information in patient's chart.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients.
• Assist the physician with office visits. Must be able to assist physician in an emergency.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by physician.
• Answer patient questions. Notify patients of test results
• Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions and appointments as necessary.

The Must Haves:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred.
• BLS certified required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
• Must be able to travel to satellite locations
