Job summary

Bayview Physicians Group in Norfolk, VA is seeking Medical Assistants to join our outpatient team. You will support clinicians with clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced setting, ensuring a welcoming patient experience.

You will greet patients, take vital signs, document in EMR, administer medications per orders, and maintain accurate records while contributing to efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Active Medical Assistant or nursing certification/licensure required.
• Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and nursing practices.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented, high-energy environment.
• Flexibility to travel to satellite locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, positive experience for every patient and family member.
• Support providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks efficiently and accurately; room patients, take and document vital signs, and update charts in the EMR.
• Administer medications and injections per provider orders, following all documentation and safety protocols.
• Keep patient records up to date, including medications, allergies, and medical history.
• Answer phone calls, respond to patient needs, and route messages appropriately.
• Help keep clinic operations running smoothly in a fast-paced setting.
