Job summary

Vascular Centers of America is hiring a Medical Receptionist to greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage front desk duties in person at our New York office. You will handle insurance verification, verify authorizations, and maintain accurate patient records in the EHR system while delivering compassionate service.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of medical receptionist or medical assisting experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in insurance verification and authorizations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Ability to maintain composure and calm patients in stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology to answer patient inquiries accurately.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Experience managing multiple phone lines and scheduling appointments.
  • Proficiency with medical office software and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients with scheduling appointments and completing forms.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) and organize medical records.
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers with procedures.
  • Perform basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs and drawing blood.
  • Educate patients on medical procedures, tests, and medication administration.
  • Coordinate referrals, verify insurance coverage, and process insurance claims.
  • Maintain inventory, cleanliness, and organization of the medical office.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, and other professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
  • Address patient concerns and provide accurate answers to medical questions.
