Job summary

Primary Vascular Care is a per diem Medical Assistant role requiring travel between vascular care centers and nursing homes. You will support post-procedure patients, assist nurses, and help with documentation and safety in recovery settings.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year patient care experience, BLS certification, and is comfortable lifting patients. Certification is preferred, vaccines up to date, and a team-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of patient care experience.
  • Current BLS certification required; COVID-19 and flu vaccines preferred.
  • Willingness to travel between vascular care centers and nursing homes with a personal vehicle.
  • Ability to lift and assist patients safely.
  • Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth communication of protocols and workflows within the recovery area.
  • Provide post-procedure patient support including comfort, safety, and dressing management.
  • Liaise between physicians, nurses, and patients to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation of patient procedures.
  • Assist registered nurses during examinations and procedures.
  • Assist with lifting, transferring, and positioning patients.
  • Provide occasional front desk coverage as needed.
  • Oversee restocking, supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Dispose of biohazardous waste per regulations.
  • Support extended hours and additional tasks as required.
  • Uphold HIPAA and safety regulations.

Are you passionate about patient care and ready to elevate your career? Primary Vascular Care is seeking a reliable, driven Medical Assistant to join our compassionate and highly skilled team. In this unique role, you’ll work across multiple settings—including our vascular care centers and nursing homes—gaining meaningful experience while making a genuine impact on the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure smooth communication of protocols, policies, and workflows within our Vascular Care Center recovery area.
  • Provide compassionate post-procedure support, including patient comfort, safety, dressing management, and nutritional needs.
  • Serve as an essential liaison between physicians, nurses, and patients to promote coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation of all patient procedures.
  • Support registered nurses during examinations and procedures to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
  • Assist with lifting, transferring, and positioning patients between stretchers and wheelchairs.
  • Provide occasional coverage for Front Desk Coordinator duties as needed.
  • Collaborate with management to oversee restocking, supply management, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Safely dispose of biohazardous waste following regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist with additional tasks or extended hours when required.
  • Uphold professionalism in all interactions with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and office safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management and clinical leadership.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to travel between multiple vascular care centers and nursing homes (personal vehicle required).
  • Minimum 1 year of patient care experience required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
  • Updated physical, vaccines, and titers (PPD/TB, Hep B, MMR, Varicella).
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccinations preferred.
  • Ability to lift and assist patients safely.
  • Comfort working in patient recovery settings.
  • Strong assessment abilities and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
