Job summary

Ascension in Racine, WI, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Orthopedics department. The role is full-time (40 hours) with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, located at All Saints facility.

You will assist physicians and nurses, interview patients, and maintain rooms and supplies to ensure efficient patient care. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, plus BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of relevant experience acceptable.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to assist in patient examinations and treatments.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, treatments, and specialized clinical duties.
• Interview patients to record medical history and accurately measure vital signs for charting.
• Prepare and sanitize treatment rooms while ensuring all medical supplies are ordered and stocked.
• Manage essential clerical tasks, including phone correspondence, record maintenance, and filing.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
