This is a full-time position working:

Monday-Thursday 7:30a-5:00p

Summary:

The Medical Assistant is essential during patient visits, assisting the dermatologist in the room and fostering a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Rooming patients and documenting vital information
  • Scribing information for the dermatologist
  • Providing post-op wound care
  • Drawing blood and removing sutures
  • Cleaning and stocking exam rooms
  • Scheduling patient appointments
Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:
  • Surgical photography
  • Biopsies – punch, DIF, and shave
  • Excision procedures
  • Electrodessication and curettage
  • I&D
  • Mohs micrographic surgery
  • Phototherapy
  • Injections
  • KOH preps
  • Trichograms
  • Tzank preps
  • Dermabrasion
  • Patch testing
  • Blue light therapy
Qualifications
Education:

Minimum post-high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse. Non-certified Medical Assistants must complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification within the prescribed timeframe and maintain certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office preferred
  • Current certifications, licenses, and registrations required
  • Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Pay range: $15.00 - $19.20 per hour, determined by role, experience, and qualifications.
