Job summary

Community Care Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our patient-focused team in Louisiana. You will prepare patients for examinations, record vital signs, and assist with injections and wound care under providers orders.

You will also collect specimens, manage basic lab work, document care in EMR, schedule tests, and educate patients on treatments. We offer competitive pay, PTO, and benefits within a supportive culture.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certification/License: Medical Assistant certification (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA) and BLS.
  • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination and record vital signs.
  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms and maintain supplies.
  • Prepare and administer injections and wound care per orders.
  • Collect blood/tissue and perform in-house lab tests; log results.
  • Document patient care in EMR.
  • Schedule tests and follow-up appointments.
  • Instruct patients and families on treatment and meds.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to ensure seamless care.
  • Phlebotomy.
  • Open/close clinic duties and patient call backs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Medical Assistant certification (RMA/AAMA/NCCT/CMAC/AMCA) + BLS

Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare patients for examination, records vital signs and history, and provides treatment as applicable

  • Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures

  • Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders

  • Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs

  • Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records

  • Schedule patients for tests, initial, and follow-up appointments if applicable in care setting

  • Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions

  • Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care

  • Phlebotomy

  • Perform opening/closing clinic duties and patient call backs

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.

  • Certificate/License: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following programs is preferred (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA). Current BLS certification is required.

  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred


Compensation: Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
