Job summary

Icco, Llc. is seeking a friendly Medical Assistant to join our patient-focused team in Salem, Oregon. You’ll prepare patients, assist providers, handle injections, phlebotomy, vital signs, and manage records in our EMR system.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred (RMA, CMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA). Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination and record vital signs/history.
  • Prepare and sterilize rooms and maintain supplies/equipment.
  • Administer injections, change dressings, and assist with wound care per provider orders.
  • Collect blood/tissue and handle in-house lab testing; log results.
  • Document basic patient care and procedures in EMR.
  • Schedule tests and follow-up appointments as applicable.
  • Instruct patients and families on treatment and medication instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Perform phlebotomy and clinic opening/closing duties.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examination, records vital signs and history, and provides treatment as applicable
  • Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
  • Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders
  • Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs
  • Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
  • Schedule patients for tests, initial, and follow-up appointments if applicable in care setting
  • Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
  • Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care
  • Phlebotomy
  • Perform opening/closing clinic duties and patient call backs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Certificate/License: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following programs is preferred (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA). Current BLS certification is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred
Compensation:

Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
