Job summary

Community Care Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our patient-focused team in Louisiana. You will prepare patients for exams, document vital signs, and assist with procedures under provider orders.

The role includes phlebotomy, wound care, specimen collection, and EMR documentation. Required are a high school diploma and current Medical Assistant certification (RMA/AAMA/NCCT/CMAC/AMCA) with BLS; at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA) and BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination, record vital signs and history, and provide treatment as applicable.
• Prepare and sterilize examination rooms and maintain medical supplies/equipment.
• Administer injections, change dressings, and manage wound care as ordered.
• Collect blood, specimens, and perform in-house lab testing with results documented.
• Document patient care in EMR and coordinate scheduling for tests and follow-ups.
• Instruct patients and families on treatment and medication instructions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team to ensure seamless patient care.
• Perform phlebotomy and clinic opening/closing duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for examination, records vital signs and history, and provides treatment as applicable
• Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
• Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders
• Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs
• Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
• Schedule patients for tests, initial, and follow-up appointments if applicable in care setting
• Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
• Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care

Qualifications:

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Certificate/License: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following programs is preferred (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA). Current BLS certification is required.
• Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
