Job summary

Community Care Partners in Ruston, LA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient examinations, record vital signs, and provide treatment under providers orders. You will prepare rooms, manage supplies, and assist with injections and phlebotomy, using EMR for documentation and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, or AMCA) and BLS required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams; record vital signs and history.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Administer injections and wound care per orders.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens; log results in EMR.
• Document patient care in EMR and schedule tests.
• Instruct patients on treatments and medications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team to ensure seamless patient care.
• Phlebotomy duties.
• Open/close clinic and handle patient callbacks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for examination, records vital signs and history, and provides treatment as applicable
• Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
• Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders
• Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs
• Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
• Schedule patients for tests, initial, and follow-up appointments if applicable in care setting
• Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
• Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care
• Phlebotomy
• Perform opening/closing clinic duties and patient call backs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Certificate/License: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following programs is preferred (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA). Current BLS certification is required.
• Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
