Job summary

Premise Health seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to support the Northwestern Mutual Health Center in Milwaukee, providing clinical and administrative support for employees and dependents.

You will take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, perform injections and basic tests, and maintain health records while assisting at the front desk and coordinating appointments.

Qualifications

• National medical assisting certification required or equivalent program with hands-on externship.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS/CPR) required.
• CMA accreditation from a recognized body is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height).
• Maintain accurate patient health records and charting.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications including injections, perform labs, EKGs and related tests.
• Handle front desk tasks and schedule appointments; order supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Full Time Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to our clients employees' and their dependents at Northwestern Mutual in our Health Center located in Milwaukee, WI.

Schedule

• Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm (9 hour days)
• Wed from 7:30 am - 11:30 am (4 hour day)

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center of Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologists, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)
