Job summary

Premise Health Inc. seeks a Full Time Medical Assistant to care for Northwestern Mutual employees and dependents at the Milwaukee Health Center. You will interview patients, take vital signs, maintain health records, prepare rooms, and assist with exams and procedures.

Responsibilities include administering medications, performing labs, operating EKGs, and supporting front-desk operations. National MA certification and BLS are required; CMA certification is preferred. Career benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• National certification in Medical Assisting from an approved organization.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CMA certification from a recognized body approved by the state boards.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height).
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accuracy and currency.
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Administers medications including injections; performs labs; operates EKGs as allowed.
• Performs front-desk duties, schedules appointments and calls for follow-ups.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Health Center.

As a Full Time Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to our clients employees' and their dependents at Northwestern Mutual in our Health Center located in Milwaukee, WI.

Schedule:

• 40 Hours Per Week
• Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm (9 hour days)
• Wed from 7:30 am - 11:30 am (4 hour day)

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center of Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologists, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
