Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is hiring full-time Medical Assistants (MA) to support the Adams County Adult Correctional Complex in Gettysburg, PA. The MA will deliver nursing care under LPN supervision and perform intake, vital signs, and basic treatments in a fast-paced setting.

The role includes 2-week orientation, rotating weekends, and a benefits package with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) match. Overtime, shift differentials, and other incentives are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills and professional bearing.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Good written and verbal communication for patient and staff interactions.
• Knowledge of basic office equipment and medical devices.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial intake screening for new receptions and record vital signs.
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
• Verify medications and medical information by phone when needed.
• Collect lab specimens including venipuncture as ordered by physician.
• Perform treatments ordered by physician and maintain medication records.
• Administer tuberculin skin testing on new intakes and annual follow-ups.
• Type reports and correspondence; manage telephone communications and filing.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to universal precautions.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and perform other duties as assigned.

INCREASED PAY RATES - TUITION REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM - GENEROUS PTO PACKAGE

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Medical Assistants (MA) to work full-time in the medical department at the Adams County Adult Correctional Complex located in Gettysburg, PA. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care and perform duties under the supervision of an LPN.

Available Shifts: Full-time Days (7 am - 7:30 pm) with rotating weekends

Job Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks and duties, including performing the initial intake screening on new receptions, taking vital signs, and completing all appropriate intake forms per written protocol. In addition, the Medical Assistant will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas for the facility. Other responsibilities of the Medical Assistant will include:

• Phoning verification of medications and medical information.
• Obtain lab specimens as ordered by the physician (including Venipunctures).
• Performing various treatments ordered by a Physician.
• Maintaining medication records.
• Tuberculin skin testing should be administered on new intakes and on annual follow-ups due on all inmates/patients.
• Typing of various reports, letters, and memoranda.
• Answering telephone and process calls.
• Maintaining the filing system and confidentiality of information at all times.
• Following universal precautions at all times.
• Maintaining a pleasant working attitude.
• Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated.

This position provides a 2 week orientation period where you will be training on the job and shadowing with the nursing staff.

Requirements

The Medical Assistant is a fast paced position, and as such, we must have someone who has the ability to multi-task and has a good grasp of patient assessment skills. In addition, the Medical Assistant must also bring some clerical experience and ability to type to the position in order to be considered.
