Job Responsibilities
  • Support physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses by taking vitals, assisting in examinations and procedures, and providing translation services.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
  • Take vital signs, height, and weight; plot growth charts; administer immunizations.
  • Perform laboratory and screening tests such as visual acuity, audiometric screening, Snellen tests, spirometry, and EKGs.
  • Provide counseling, care, follow-up instructions, health education, and materials as instructed by providers.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school or hospital, including externship verification of 6 months’ clinical experience (back office MA experience may substitute for externship).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of back office experience in a clinical environment.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of general back office procedures such as vitals, venipuncture, and immunizations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology in English and Spanish.
  • Emergency response skills for crisis situations.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, email communication, and internet search.
Pay Range
  • $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.
