Job summary

The US Oncology Network in Elgin, IL seeks a Medical Assistant for a full-time, Monday–Friday role. Under supervision, they will support physicians with patient care, ensure smooth patient flow, and perform clinic tasks from taking vitals to handling injections and referrals.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA credential and CMA preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
• CPR certification required (BLS) and phlebotomy skills highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Provide collaborative nursing support.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and assist with exams/procedures.
• Administer appropriate injections.
• Take vitals and triage patient calls.

Hourly Rate: $19.00-$21.00

Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician’s schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Provide collaborative nursing support.
• Maintain efficient patient flow.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer appropriate injections.
• Take vitals.
• Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• High School diploma or GED
• 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant
• CPR Certification required same as BLS
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
