Job summary

US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities is seeking a Medical Assistant for Crystal Lake, IL. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, with an hourly rate in the $19.00-$21.00 range.

This position supports physicians and clinicians, promotes efficient patient flow, and performs essential clinic tasks. The ideal candidate will have CNA certification, a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, CPR certification, and preferred CMA credential.

Qualifications

• CNA certification is required or preferred.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
• CPR Certification required same as BLS.
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred).
• Phlebotomy skills highly desired.
• Oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate; provide collaborative nursing support.
• Maintain efficient patient flow.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer appropriate injections.
• Take vitals.
• Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Place prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.

Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician's schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
