Illinois Cancer Specialists in Arlington Heights, IL is hiring a Medical Assistant (Full-Time). The role supports physicians and clinicians in patient care, ensuring smooth flow, exams, and procedures. Clinical and clerical tasks, including appointment management, are part of the daily responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, CPR/BLS certification, and preferably CMA certification. Oncology experience is a plus.
Overview
Hourly Rate: $19.00-$24.00
Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician's schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
Assist patients with scheduling appointments in the electronic system.
Provide collaborative nursing support.
Maintain efficient patient flow.
Assist with procedures as requested.
Administer appropriate injections.
Take vitals.
Answer/return patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse
Tend to the needs of the patients while getting treatment
Assist with scheduling patient appointments
High School degree or GED
2 years experience as a Medical Assistant
CPR Certification required same as BLS
Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
Phlebotomy skills highly desired
Oncology experience a plus
