Job summary

Illinois Cancer Specialists in Arlington Heights, IL is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in delivering efficient, compassionate patient care. Under supervision, you will handle exams, injections, vitals, and clerical tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and compliance with the US Oncology Network.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant, CPR/BLS certification, and preferably a Certified Medical Assistant with

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED.
• 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
• CPR Certification required same as BLS.
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred).
• Phlebotomy skills highly desired.
• Oncology experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Assist patients with scheduling appointments in the electronic system.
• Provide collaborative nursing support.
• Maintain efficient patient flow.
• Assist with procedures as requested.
• Administer appropriate injections.
• Take vitals.
• Answer/return patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse
• Tend to the needs of the patients while getting treatment
• Assist with scheduling patient appointments

Overview

Medical Assistant - Arlington Heights, IL - Full-Time

Hourly Rate: $19.00-$24.00

Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician’s schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
