Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Medical Assistant in Crystal Lake, IL, a full-time position Monday through Friday. The role supports physicians and clinicians, helps manage patient flow, and performs clinical and clerical tasks in a fast-paced oncology setting.

The ideal candidate holds CNA certification, 2 years MA experience, and CPR/BLS credentials, with phlebotomy skills and oncology experience highly desired.

Qualifications

• CNA certification and CPR/BLS required.
• Minimum 2 years as a Medical Assistant.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy skills highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms.
• Provide collaborative nursing support.
• Maintain efficient patient flow.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
• Administer appropriate injections.
• Take vitals.
• Answer patient telephone calls for referrals to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Phone in prescriptions and other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.

Hourly Rate: $19.00-$21.00

Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician’s schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
