An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for their Heart and Vascular Center. This role involves providing essential patient care, assisting with medical exams, and ensuring compliance with health standards. EDUCATION
High school graduate or equivalent. Either has gone through CNA course or certified medical assistant course.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years related experience. Broad knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathology, blood-borne pathogens, and universal precautions. Medical equipment Knowledge: EKG, Sphygmomanometer, glucometer, AED, otoscope, thermometer, and scale. Proficient computer skills: EPIC, Microsoft Word, Outlook.
LICENSURE
Certified and/or registered as a Medical Assistant. Or CNA certified. CPR trained.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a high paced environment. Basic to Intermediate computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and/or hear. They are also required to stand and walk. They must occasionally lift and/or move up to 26 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
MA experience preferred, working in surgical sub-specialty would be a plus.
