Lifepoint Health® is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform routine clinical and administrative duties within a supportive healthcare environment. Responsibilities include assisting with patient assessments, basic diagnostics, and maintaining medical supplies.

Successful candidates will possess a high school diploma, graduate from an accredited medical assistance program, and obtain BLS certification within 60 days of hire.

Reports to: Director of Physician Services

FLSA: Non-exempt

Education: High school diploma or equivalent Required; Graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent Required

License: CCMA, CMA or RMA

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Essential Functions

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
