Job summary

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a general surgery practice. You will perform patient assessments, basic diagnostics, specimen collection, and administrative duties in a fast-paced environment that prioritizes quality patient care.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited medical assistant program, and CCMA/CMA/RMA licensure with BLS within 60 days of hire. Reports to the Director of Physician Services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent.
• CCMA, CMA or RMA license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors and communicates changes in patient condition; documents care provided.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting; maintains examination areas.

Join our busy general surgery practice with three experienced surgeons dedicated to providing high-quality surgical care to patients throughout our community. Our team includes physicians, nurses, certified medical assistants, patient service representatives, and referral specialists who work together to support patients from consultation through post-operative recovery. We care for a wide variety of surgical conditions and procedures while focusing on patient education, safety, and exceptional service. How You'll Contribute

A Certified Medical Assistant who excels in this role:

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
