Job summary

Memorial Physician Practices seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks in a busy office. You will assist with patient assessments, collect specimens, document care, and maintain equipment under physician supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assistant program, and BLS certification within 60 days. CCMA/CMA/RMA licensure is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient assessments and treatments under physician/nurse supervision.
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures, collect specimens, monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies; keep examination areas clean and stocked.
  • Perform administrative duties: filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, patient registration.

Education

FLSA: Non-exempt

Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent required
  • License: CCMA, CMA or RMA
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Essential Functions
  • Assist with patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of a physician or nurse
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures, specimen collection, monitor and communicate changes in patient condition, and document patient care given
  • Maintain equipment and medical supplies (reordering, stocking, cleaning, troubleshooting); maintain examination areas
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration
