Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide routine clinical and administrative support in a patient-focused environment in Hickory, NC. The role reports to the Practice Manager and is non-exempt under FLSA.

Required CMA/RMA/CCMA licensure within 60 days of hire and BLS certification within 30 days of hire; High school diploma or equivalent is required, with Associate's degree preferred. Strong customer service and ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate's degree preferred.
• License: CMA or RMA or CCMA via the AAMA or NHA must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under supervision.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition; document care given.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies; reorder, stock, clean, troubleshoot; keep exam areas organized.
• Perform administrative or clerical duties: filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, patient registration.
• Exhibit exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.

Essential Functions

Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.

Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.

Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.

Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Exhibits exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.
