Bluebonnet Trails Community Services is seeking a Consumer Benefits Specialist to help individuals determine Medicaid eligibility, access benefits, and maintain entitlements. You will assist with SSI/SSDI applications, referrals, and renewal processes, with duties spanning multiple counties in Texas.

The role includes providing community referrals, representation in hearings where needed, and trainings across programs to improve access to benefits for persons served.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security applications.
• Strong computer and communication skills.
• SOAR certification or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or 24 credits in a human services field.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsabilités

• Assist consumers with determining eligibility for Medicaid benefits and entitlements.
• Aid in SSI/SSDI applications and follow-up, including referrals to vendors.
• Provide benefit renewal assistance and maintain eligibility for Medicaid programs.
• Refer clients to community resources (food stamps, ANF, etc.) and coordinate trainings.
• Present or designate trainings across programs and departments.
• Serve in a regional capacity supporting Bastrop, Fayette, and Lee locations and liaise with referral vendors.
