Job summary

Bluebonnet Trails Community Services seeks a Consumer Benefits Specialist to help clients determine Medicaid eligibility, access benefits, and maintain coverage. You will assist with SSI/SSDI applications, renewals, and coordinate referrals to vendors for services and hearings.

The role covers multiple locations in Bastrop, Fayette, and Lee counties, including travel to Bastrop, La Grange, and Giddings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.
• SOAR certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security applications.
• Experience with persons with disabilities in healthcare or rehab setting.
• Strong computer and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers in determining Medicaid eligibility, access and maintenance of benefits.
• Aid SSI/SSDI applications and follow-up, including referrals to vendors.
• Provide benefit renewal assistance and maintenance of eligibility for Medicaid programs.
• Serve as presenter/designee on trainings across programs and departments.
• Support multiple locations (Bastrop, Fayette, Lee) and coordinate with referral vendors.
