Job summary

Denton MHMR seeks a Consumer Benefits Specialist to help clients access SSI/Medicaid and other benefits. Under supervision, you screen eligibility, collect documents, and guide clients through forms and appeals.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, coordinating with clinic staff, and assisting with program planning and interagency coordination. Requires high school or GED and good computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college preferred.
• Experience in MHMR field and financial intake knowledge is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Windows-based computers.

Responsibilities

• Screens consumers for eligibility by completing financial assessments and assisting with benefits applications.
• Maintain information and documentation for initial screenings and assist clients to complete forms.
• Act as Resource Specialist for outpatient clinics, conducting initial client interviews.
• Participate in program planning, policy development, and interagency coordination.
• Maintain and operate company vehicle if required.
