Job summary

Bay State Community Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated professional to help individuals access affordable state benefits such as SNAP and SSDI. You will conduct intake interviews, determine essential needs, and guide clients through the benefits application process.

In this role, you will become a Certified Application Coordinator and submit electronic applications for MassHealth and SNAP, while supporting SSI/SSDI and veterans benefits. Strong outreach and continuous learning are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Human Services related field required.
• At least one year of experience engaging in case management activities.
• Strong Computer Skills.
• Valid MA driver’s license with acceptable driving record and current proof of insurance.
• Acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews with clients to ascertain essential needs such as housing, food, healthcare, and personal finance.
• Submit electronic benefits applications to MassHealth as part of a Counselor Designated Organization (CDO).
• Submit electronic benefits applications to SNAP via DTA Connect.
• Assist eligible clients in applying for SSI/SSDI benefits and veterans benefits.
• Engage in outreach to state agencies and the community to develop leads on benefit programs.
