Job summary

LSU New Orleans, Department Medicaid Support, seeks a subject matter expert in Third-Party Liability (TPL) Recovery handling Estate, Trauma, and Special Needs Trusts. You will analyze Medicaid claims, develop policy insights, and support complex recoveries, including coordination with legal teams and insurance providers.

The role requires excellent analytical and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 6 years’ professional work experience in lieu of degree.
• Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in Third-Party Liability (TPL) Recovery for Estate, Trauma, and Special Needs Trusts.
• Develop advanced knowledge of Medicaid policy to interpret claims and recoveries.
• Coordinate with LDH’s Bureau of Legal Service, families, attorneys, insurers, and third parties.
• Perform advanced research and calculations for appropriate recovery amounts.
• Assist in planning, design, testing, and implementation of recovery system changes.
