Job summary

Erie Family Health Centers seeks an Insurance Navigator to join our Front-End Revenue Cycle Operations team across the Greater Chicagoland area. You will assist patients with Medicaid and Marketplace enrollments, educate them on options, and help with redeterminations and eligibility inquiries.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of insurance terminology, electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
• Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients for eligibility and assist with enrollment, retention, and renewal of Medicaid, Marketplace, and other eligible programs.
• Educate patients on available coverage options and assist with enrollment in programs such as the sliding scale program, IBCCP, Manage My Case, and Medicaid Managed Care plans.
• Conduct patient outreach to prepare, educate, and confirm appointments, and provide individualized assistance with applications, redeterminations, and eligibility-related inquiries.
• Follow up on pending applications, requests for additional information, eligibility determinations, and HFS notices to support timely processing and continuity of coverage.
• Provide patients with educational materials and resources regarding insurance coverage, benefits, and available community programs.
• Review and reconcile patient accounts for insurance assessment and manage patient and departmental inquiries through the EHR system.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including scanning, faxing, printing, and processing of required forms and supporting documents.
• Participate in benefit fairs, outreach activities, staff meetings, and required trainings.
• Travel to other Erie sites as needed to provide coverage or attend training.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
