Job summary

Acentra Health is seeking a Systems Manager to lead day-to-day IT staff and oversee the delivery and maintenance of a complex Medicaid MMIS system. This onsite role requires living within commuting distance of Montgomery, AL, and working up to four days per week on site.

You will manage the team, supervise maintenance activities, coordinate with the client and stakeholders, and drive on-time delivery across project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or master’s degree related IT
• 8+ years supervisory experience in Medicaid systems design, development and implementation (DDI)
• 8+ years of MMIS/DDI experience across multiple functional areas
• Must live within commuting distance to Montgomery, AL and onsite up to 4 days/week
• Experience with SDLC and STLC
• Well versed in programming languages, operating systems, databases and Cloud technologies
• Knowledge of version control and defect management tools
• Experience in project management and ability to create and manage project plans
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in business terms and present to stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical contact with Client
• Day-to-day liaison with the state Client and stakeholders
• Hire and train system maintenance staff
• Develop and manage procedures for routine maintenance
• Provides day-to-day supervision of all assigned team members
• Manages the support and maintenance of Medicaid/MMIS systems across project lifecycles
• Serves as liaison between client and other area resources
• Provides leadership to ensure on-time project delivery
• Supports cross-functional teams to make product and solution decisions
• Applies communication and problem-solving skills to guide the team
• Enforces best practices and holds team accountable
• Sets attainable goals to meet client commitments
• Recommends new processes to improve quality and delivery
• Adheres to HIPAA and related privacy/security policies
