Job summary

Acentra Health is seeking a Systems Manager to lead day-to-day IT staff and oversee the delivery of application support for a complex Medicaid MMIS system in Montgomery, AL. This onsite role requires residency within commuting distance and the ability to work onsite up to four days per week.

You will provide leadership across all delivery phases, mentor team members, and ensure on-time project execution while applying HIPAA, security, and industry best practices to support our public sector

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in IT/computing.
• 8+ years supervising Medicaid systems design and MMIS.
• Willing to be onsite from Montgomery, AL up to 4 days a week.
• Experience with SDLC and STLC.
• Proficient in programming languages, operating systems, databases, and cloud tech.
• Knowledge of version control and defect management tools.
• Experience in project management and creating project plans.
• Strong communication and leadership in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical contact with Client.
• Day-to-day liaison with state Client and stakeholders.
• Hire and train system maintenance staff.
• Develop and manage maintenance procedures.
• Supervise all assigned team members.
• Manage support and maintenance of Medicaid/MMIS systems.
• Liaise between client and area resources across projects.
• Provide leadership to ensure on-time delivery.
• Support decisions by collaborating with cross-functional SMEs.
• Enforce best practices and accountability.
• Set attainable goals to meet commitments.
• Recommend process improvements for quality and cost.
• Read and adhere to HIPAA policies.
