Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a Medicaid Specialist Field Staff to oversee and execute the Medicaid application process for residents. You will meet with residents and families in person or virtually to gather and verify information and submit complete applications within required timeframes.

This role requires strong Illinois public aid knowledge, on-site work Monday through Friday, and the ability to navigate EMR systems and eligibility portals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Medicaid application experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Illinois Public Aid; Wisconsin preferred.
• Experience in long-term care and benefits portals preferred.
• Travels to Alden facilities; on-site Mon-Fri; remote work not available.
• Reads, writes, and speaks English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to interact tactfully with families, residents, and staff.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office; able to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Gather necessary information to initiate Public Aid applications.
• Monitor payer changes and identify residents needing Medicaid.
• Contact residents within 48 hours of admission to discuss finances and submit forms.
• Weekly follow-ups to gather documentation until submission and approval.
• Escalate after two weeks of no contact to involve facility leadership.
• Maintain documentation in EMR and related systems.
• Submit ABE and monitor status weekly; notify coordinator upon submission.
