Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II (LTCW) to serve as the front-line of beneficiary access to the Medicaid program in the EEMS Processing Centers in Spartanburg County. This in‑office role collects and evaluates documentation to determine individual and family eligibility, ensuring determinations, reviews, and changes are accurate and timely.

The position requires professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience in customer services, social services, human services, and/or Medicaid processing.
• A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
• In-office role with no telecommute or remote work.
• Overtime and/or weekend work with Deputy approval.

Responsibilities

• Collect, evaluate, and act upon documentation from applicants/beneficiaries to determine eligibility.
• Complete all eligibility determinations, reviews, and changes with accurate and timely documentation.
• Escalate as needed and act as a subject matter expert for the team.
