Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II (MAGI) to determine Medicaid eligibility according to policies and procedures. This in-office role in Anderson County collects and evaluates documentation from applicants to determine eligibility for the program.

Responsibilities include using agency tools to gather information, issue determinations, and document all steps for review, while maintaining privacy and professional communication with applicants and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience in customer services, social services, human services, and/or Medicaid processing.
• Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations.

Responsibilities

• Uses information sources and systems to collect, assemble, evaluate, and act on information to make timely eligibility determinations and changes.
• Documents notes and steps clearly for review and hand-off to others in the system of record.
• Maintains professional demeanor and communicates clearly with coworkers and beneficiaries, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
