Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking an LTCW Eligibility Specialist II in Richland County to determine Medicaid eligibility for individuals and families. This in-office role involves collecting documentation from applicants and applying program rules to make timely determinations and reviews.

You will use agency tools, document each step, and communicate with beneficiaries and colleagues while maintaining privacy and accuracy. Some overtime is possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and professionally.
• Familiarity with computers, MS Office, and internet browsers.

Responsibilities

• Determine and redetermine Medicaid eligibility according to policy and procedures.
• Collect, evaluate, and document documentation from applicants and third parties.
• Complete all determinations, reviews, and changes accurately and timely.
• Document notes and steps clearly for review and hand-off to others.
• Maintain privacy and provide courteous customer service to beneficiaries and staff.
