Job summary

The State of South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II (MAGI) to determine and re-determine Medicaid eligibility according to policies and procedures. You will collect and evaluate documentation from applicants to determine individual and family eligibility for the program.

This in-office role is located at the EEMS Processing Center - Midlands, Richland County.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and relevant program experience in customer services, social services, human services, and/or Medicaid processing.
• A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Responsibilities

• Uses various information sources, electronic tools, and systems to collect, assemble, evaluate, and act upon information to determine timely eligibility determinations and changes.
• Maintains accurate documentation and follows escalation processes when needed.
• Maintains professional communication with coworkers and beneficiaries and adheres to privacy and confidentiality policies.
• Performs mandatory trainings and stays compliant with agency policies and procedures.
