Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Public Benefit Specialist for on-site work at Children’s Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. You will review uninsured or under-insured patients, determine Medicaid eligibility, and assist with applications to ensure timely submissions and accurate billing.

Minimum 1–2 years in healthcare with revenue cycle knowledge and strong communication. CRCR certification is required within 9 months of hire and benefits include tuition support and certifications.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in healthcare interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues.
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials.
• Knowledge of patient insurance processes for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes.
• CRCR certification within 9 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interview uninsured/under-insured patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid or Financial Assistance.
• Assist with application processes to facilitate accurate and appropriate submissions.
• Follow up on submitted applications to ensure timely billing or adjustment processing.
• Document all actions and communications in patient accounting systems.
• Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and work with caseworkers.
