Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medicaid and CHIP Services (MCS) division seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the role of Medicaid Communication Specialist. This position will play a critical role in communication planning and message development for internal and external MCS initiatives.

Working under the Director of Change Management and various project leads, the Medicaid Communication Specialist will develop clear, concise, engaging, accessible and compelling

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time professional experience developing and editing written communications for multiple audiences
• Ability to adapt content, tone and level of detail based on audience and purpose
• Available to work in person in Austin, Texas

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and edit Medicaid content for articles, presentations, web content, newsletters, trainings and other communications (20%)
• Review and refine Medicaid content for clarity, plain language, editorial style and brand guide compliance
• Support staff engagement initiatives and internal communication
• Collaborate with MCS program areas to align on objectives and deliverables
• Maintain and organize the internal MCS SharePoint and content management processes
• Advise and collaborate on content planning and messaging for diverse audiences
• Educate staff on best practices for strategic content, toolkits and trainings
• Handle other projects as assigned
