Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin seeks a Deputy State Medicaid Director to lead the Medicaid & CHIP Services division, reporting to the State Medicaid Director. The candidate will drive strategic initiatives, ensure financial strength, and uphold regulatory compliance while delivering high-quality services

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in publicly funded health programs with experience in Medicaid and CHIP operations
• Experience directing complex programs or initiatives in health and human services
• 5+ years in senior leadership positions

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to administer all aspects of Medicaid and CHIP programs
• Contribute to policy formation, strategic direction and priority setting
• Ensure high member and provider experience and outcomes through program and operational initiatives
• Provide day-to-day leadership and align staff with division goals
• Represent the division in hearings and with stakeholders
