Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medicaid CHIP Services (MCS) division seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Project Manager II reporting to the MCS Director of Project Management Office (PMO) within the MCS Operations department.

The position performs moderately complex project management work in support of the PMO and the department’s role in advancing effective project delivery across the Medicaid program including governance frameworks, portfolio management,

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, project management, management, or a related field.
• Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Certification in project management is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Project management through the lifecycle from initiation to closeout for assigned projects.
• Provide governance, reporting, and portfolio management support to program areas.
• Monitor milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies; report status to leadership.
• Coordinate meetings and communications among project managers, program staff, and stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation, closeout activities, and lessons learned.
• Perform other duties to support MCS operations and initiatives.
