Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments seeks a qualified Eligibility Specialist to determine financial eligibility for Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, ERDC, and related programs. You will interact with applicants in person, by phone, or in community settings, using trauma-informed, person-centered communication.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, coordination with case managers, and participation in audits and hearings, with telework possible after probation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in social services preferred and/or any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Knowledge of confidentiality rules regarding client and provider records, including HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to interview applicants to determine program eligibility.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and communicate effectively in writing and orally.

Responsabilités

• Determines financial eligibility for Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, ERDC, and other programs.
• Provides customer service and counseling on benefits via phone, in-person, or community settings.
• Performs administrative tasks including audits, voter registration assistance, and hearings participation.
• Identifies applicants needing additional support and acts as needed to coordinate services.
