Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a diligent Unit Secretary for the OLGMC 4C Medical Telemetry unit on a part-time days schedule. The role supports admit, discharge and transfer processes, handles reservations, manages the phones, and follows up on patient and staff requests with accuracy and courtesy.

Strong computer skills, proficiency with EPIC, and familiarity with medical terminology are required; BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical support for the department.
• Responds to requests from patients, family, and staff and refers to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Serves as Patient Experience Ambassador for the unit.
• Assesses EPIC chart reports to ensure proper unit charges.
