Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Suffolk, VA is seeking a dedicated Med Tech to provide quality care and assist with medication administration within scope. The role supports residents with daily living activities, documents in EMAR/MAR, and helps maintain safety and calm in emergencies.

You must hold CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing and complete the Medication Aide Course, with CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medication Aide Course required.
• Current CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing required.
• Pass two medication observations annually.
• Pass all medication cart audits.
• Attend 4 hours of medication administration education annually.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized and able to work with all levels of personnel.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and push/carry 25 lbs.
• Willingness to become CPR/First Aid certified within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administration of prescribed medications within scope of practice.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents to RNs/LPNs and dispatch as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed.
• Respond to resident calls or emergencies.
• Assist in planning activity programs for residents.
• Document medication administration on EMAR/MAR and Daily Log.
• Re-order medications and communicate changes to family as needed.
• Move residents to dining and activities.
• Ensure attendance at meals and activities.
